A friend recommended Capozzi Design and Build to us when we needed our ceiling above our kitchen sink replastered and painted. Our friend had recently completed a complete kitchen makeover using Capozzi and was extremely pleased with the experience and results. We were not interested in new cabinets or countertops but we were open to possibly new lighting and fan. Kevin and Anne listened to all of our thoughts made suggestions. They were great to work with throughout the project. In the end, a repaired and painted ceiling, new puck lighting, fan and new knobs for the cabinets gave us the updated look we were hoping for in this project. I also want to give a shoutout to all the workers who came into our home. They were pleasant punctual and cleaned up from their work very well. We highly recommend Capozzi Design and Build!
Framed vs. Frameless Cabinetry in Chagrin Falls, OH
Capozzi Design Build helps Chagrin Falls homeowners choose between framed and frameless cabinetry for kitchens and baths that work and last.
- Framed construction adds structural rigidity, making it a reliable fit for older homes with walls that are not perfectly level or plumb
- Frameless cabinetry opens up interior cabinet space, giving you wider drawer access and easier reach to every corner of the box
- Framed cabinets support a wider range of door styles, including inset and partial overlay, which complement traditional trim and millwork
- Frameless construction delivers a flat, uninterrupted cabinet face that suits modern and transitional kitchens without visual clutter
- Choosing the right construction type from the start reduces the risk of alignment issues, door gaps, and long-term wear on hardware
- A well-matched cabinet system supports the overall design of your home, which matters in neighborhoods like Shaker Heights and Hudson where architectural character is part of the home's value
Expert Framed vs. Frameless Cabinetry in Chagrin Falls, OH
Choosing between framed and frameless cabinetry is one of the biggest decisions in any kitchen or bath remodel. Framed cabinets have a solid wood face frame on the front of the box. That frame adds structural rigidity and suits the traditional, craftsman, and transitional homes common across Chagrin Falls, Moreland Hills, and Gates Mills. Frameless cabinets remove that frame entirely. Doors mount directly to the box sides, opening up more interior space and creating the clean, flat lines that work well in contemporary and transitional designs. Many homes in Pepper Pike and Hunting Valley carry both older architecture and updated interiors, so the right cabinet construction depends on your layout, your wall conditions, and the look you want to live with long-term. At Capozzi Design Build, we walk you through both options with honest guidance. We look at your space, your storage needs, and your design goals before making a recommendation. Our mission since day one has been to help homeowners make confident decisions, and that starts with getting the cabinetry choice right.

Framed vs. Frameless Cabinetry FAQ
Common questions about framed vs. frameless cabinetry in Chagrin Falls, OH.
Framed cabinetry is generally the better fit for older Chagrin Falls homes because the face frame absorbs small wall imperfections and makes installation more forgiving. Frameless cabinets require walls that are closer to plumb and level to keep door gaps consistent.
Yes, frameless cabinets provide more usable interior space because there is no face frame narrowing the opening. That wider access is especially useful in kitchens where storage is tight.
Inset doors require a face frame to sit flush against, so they are only available with framed cabinet construction. If you want inset doors for your Pepper Pike kitchen, framed is the correct choice.
Frameless cabinetry can work in a Moreland Hills home if the interior design leans contemporary or transitional. For homes with traditional trim, millwork, and architectural detail, framed construction typically blends more naturally with the existing character.
We review your space, your wall conditions, your storage priorities, and your design goals before recommending a construction type. Our planning process is built around helping homeowners across Chagrin Falls and the surrounding areas make confident, informed decisions.
Frameless cabinets have fewer interior corners and no frame lip, which makes wiping down the interior straightforward. Framed cabinets are equally durable but the face frame creates a small ledge inside the opening that requires a bit more attention when cleaning.
